Please note all details for the 2023 CAP Workshop this October! Elysa   From: eliot.j.christian@alert-hub.org <eliot.j.christian@alert-hub.org> Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2023 3:43 AM To: Elysa Jones <ElysaJones@yahoo.com> Subject: 2023 CAP Workshop: Call for Participation   Dear Elysa Jones, The 2023 CAP Implementation Workshop and Training  will be  in Geneva, 10-12 October.   The Call for Participation  is at https://cap-workshop.alert-hub.org/2023/call-participation.pdf   Both events are described in the Flyer  at https://cap-workshop.alert-hub.org/2023/flyer.pdf The Flyer has been updated with three recent developments:      -        The CAP community provided this input to the UN Global Digital Compact: "Timely warning of life-critical emergencies is essential to public communication services." Its many endorsements can be seen at https://gdc-ews.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html      -        The European standards body CEN approved a new Workshop Agreement titled: "Requirements and recommendations for social media early warning messages in crisis and disaster management". It states: "the social media early warning messages and related notifications shall refer to the persistent unique URL of the CAP message."      -        Participants in the CAP Training Day will get an overview of the newly released version 2.0 of the Common Policies and Practices document . You can register for the Workshop and Training at https://cap.alert-hub.org/register.php However, the  List of Participants at https://cap-workshop.alert-hub.org/2023/participants.pdf  has 76 participants signed up to participate in person. Given that the IFRC meeting room can only seat 65 participants, anyone else wanting to participate in-person will be put on a wait list. There is no limit to the number of remote participants allowed to join the event Webinars. Webinar login instructions will be sent only to the persons registered in the List of Participants. If you have CAP implementation experiences or insights to share, please let the Program Committee know that you want to give one of the 20-minute presentations. You can contact the Program Committee by e mail to me as the Workshop Chair: Eliot.J.Christian@gmail.com   Thank you, Eliot Christian
