Greetings! Notes from the ODF TC teleconference on 16 August 2021 follow. Hope everyone is at the start of a great week! Patrick ****** Andreas: I will need to leave this meeting 20 minutes early. Sorry about that. Patrick: quorum Patrick: agenda - approved by consent Patrick: minutes of August 9th - approved by consent Patrick:
https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-4107 Patrick: Alfred - no change on color filtering by Excel - no plans on changing Patrick: Andreas - if add color filtering - need to describe it fully for use with formula - not partially and leave it up to implementations Patrick: Michael - could specify the same as Excel - or could say its implementation dependent - number format is taken into account or say its implementation dependent on number format - or some element for calculation settings Patrick: Patrick - in terms of interoperability and user experience/expectation, mirroring Excel would give the most uniform behavior Patrick: Andreas - Google won't change b/c the standard says to follow Excel - filtering on colors will return different results in subtotal Patrick: Michael if we added a calculation setting, then every implementation can represent its behavior in the file - only have to define the default for the setting. Patrick: Andreas - send a file using Excel to a colleague using Google - will they get notice of the non-support? Patrick: Andreas - if everyone is doing something different, why have it in the standard? Patrick: Francis - sides with Andreas - if can't get implementers to follow - Patrick: Regina - can specify without number-format color - if implementors want to include number-format color - then can extend with a setting Patrick: only Google uses number-format color - not clear if they want to save to ODF - Patrick: Andreas - only number-format color makes sense - filtering on manually formatted cell not useful - Patrick: Andreas - number-format color is really conditional formatting Patrick: Regina - need discussion with LO developers Patrick:
https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-4108 Patrick: Regina: from JIRA - <quote>If the attribute is present, style:num-prefix [REF 19.506] and style:num-suffix [REF 19.507] shall be ignored.</quote> Is the attribute text:display-levels(19.803) still evaluated? In case yes, same as (A), what happens with the <number:text> child elements? Patrick: If we agree on ignore, text needs some updating Patrick: Michael - updated issue Patrick: element in <office:styles>/<office:automatic-style> Patrick: Regina - office:styles would be more flexible Patrick: Michael - copy two comments into the proposal and then vote when Andreas is back Patrick: Vote on Office-4108 next time.
