Members of the AMQP BINDMAP TC,  Steve has notified me that he will be leaving OASIS and that the chair seat will very shortly become vacant. So you need to elect a new chair before continuing your work.  Electing a chair requires a Fill Majority Vote - that is, an affirmative vote by over 50% of the Voting Members. You have 7 VMs so 4 votes will be needed at a minimum. Note that the person elected chair need *not* be a VM.  The best way to do this is for one or two TC members to be nominated (either self-nominate or someone else can nominate) and then you can either approval her/him/them in a quorate meeting or set up an electronic ballot. I will be happy to set up the ballot for you if you like.  Please let me know if/how I can assist you.  /chet  ---------------- Chet Ensign Director of Standards Development and TC Administration  OASIS: Advancing open standards for the information society http://www.oasis-open.org Primary: +1 973-996-2298 Mobile: +1 201-341-1393

Thanks Chet. Would I be right in thinking we will need to set up a ballot now, once any nominations are settled, given Steve leaving the role before the next was due on Monday? Or would we be able to arrange a specific meeting despite that? If there are no other nominations then I will self-nominate, though I do think it would be better if someone else could take on the role. Hi Robbie,  You can certainly set up a ballot now. You could also set up a meeting and elect a chair or 2 co-chairs as the first item on the agenda. The main requirement of the TC Process is that the TC can't do any work - meaning, practically speaking, that the TC can take any other motions or votes - until the new chair is in place.  Maybe someone will volunteer to co-chair with you.  /chet On Fri, Sep 22, 2017 at 1:13 PM, Robbie Gemmell < rgemmell@redhat.com > wrote: Thanks Chet. Hi Chet, I was wondering if you could clarify something. As we haven't held a meeting for more than 60 days, does that mean we should consider all Members to be a Voting Member prior to any ballot/meeting on chair(s)? Good question. Yes, if you have not held a meeting in more than 60 days and you've had no ballots, then all Members are effectively Voting Members.  /chet On Mon, Sep 25, 2017 at 9:33 AM, Robbie Gemmell < rgemmell@redhat.com > wrote: Hi Chet, I was wondering if you could clarify something. Hi Chet, Stefan Hagen and I have self-nominated to become co-Chairs. Could you set up a ballot (or ballots) to facilitate voting on this please? The TC have not held a meeting or any ballots in more than 60 days, so all Members will need to be considered Voting Members. Can you also toggle that where needed? Hi Robbie,  Done. I have set all Members to be Voting Members. The TC now has 18 VMs so at least 10 affirmative votes will be needed for approval.  I set the ballot up at  https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/amqp-bindmap/ballot.php?id=3128   It is open now. I let it run through midnight UTC next Friday.  Let me know if anyone has any problems with the ballot. Should be straightforward.  Best,  /chet On Fri, Sep 29, 2017 at 12:16 PM, Robbie Gemmell < rgemmell@redhat.com > wrote: Hi Chet, Stefan Hagen and I have self-nominated to become co-Chairs.
