    I think its worth pointing out that free (gratis) is not what people were 
    referring to.
    The question was if the code is Free (libre) as in speech.  And it is not.
    
    Note, for example, that there is no download for any Free (libre again) 
    operating systems like Linux.
    
    Moreover, its important to realize that by using closed and proprietary 
    formats like this, and like the .doc files you use for the meeting 
    minutes you are continuing to reinforce the believes that uoml is not an 
    open standard, but just a way for a company to get more people to use 
    their software.

      May I suggest that those individuals who are interested in continuing the discussion regarding UOML and RAND either
    take the discussion to the uoml list (and off the ODF lists) or continue it privately?
