The Open Document Format (ODF) and its revisions must meet the following requirements: 1. be suitable for office documents that include content such as, text, spreadsheets, charts, or graphical content, 2. be compatible with the W3C Extensible Markup Language (XML) v1.0 and W3C Namespaces in XML v1.0 specifications, 3. create definitions and conformance requirements that promote interoperable implementations, 4. to promote fidelity of the user experience when interchanging documents between office systems Patrick: oasis - reads - OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC Charter and Chairs Patrick: Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) Patrick: Proposed revision: The purpose of this TC is to maintain and evolve the Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) to meet the changing needs of office software for an XML-based format for interchange and collaboration. Enhancement of existing ODF TC work products to meet new office suite needs; 3. Development of ODF TC work products that encourage implementation of the OpenDocumentFormat (ODF); 4. Requesting submission of completed and approved work to other organizations in accordance with the OASIS Liasion policy.
