    Rodolfo, and others,

Thanks Rodolfo for pointing out these changes.

Following is the updated paragraph regarding uniqueness of the id attribute:

The required attribute id of the XLIFF <trans-unit> and <bin-unit> elements is an identifier allowing extraction tools to merge back the data. Its value is completely determined by the filter. It may or may not correspond to an HTML identifier; it may or may not be unique within the document, but it must be unique within the enclosing <file> element.

    The updated profile is attached.

    Hi Doug,

I just finished reviewing the HTML profile and want to bring two details to your attention.

    1) Minor typo:  the title of section 1.2 says "Transition and Strict" but the index says "transitional and Strict"

    2) Section 2.7 says:

The required attribute id of the XLIFF <trans-unit> element is an identifier allowing extraction tools to merge back the data. Its value is completely determined by the filter. It may or may not correspond to an HTML identifier; it may or may not be unique within the document.

This should be clarified, as according to the revised specs, "The required id attribute is used to uniquely identify the <trans-unit> within all <trans-unit> and <bin-unit> elements within the same <file>.", the id attribute may not be unique within the document, but it should be unique within the enclosing <file> element.

BTW, good work with section 1.2 . I will borrow the text as is for the Java profile.

    Best regards,
    Rodolfo
