    Aaron,

It's going to be hard to work without the Kavi site, but I'm glad that you're not letting that slow you down.

During the course of developing CAP and EDXL-DE (well, I guess HAVE and EDXL-RM, too) we identified best practices, recommendations, and examples that need to be captured in their respective Developer's Guides. Unfortunately, all of that information is only captured in meeting notes where they were discussed over the course of the last ~3 years. There is an EDXL-DE developer's guide on KAVA that is empty - just a place holder, but it is cited in the EDXL-DE as a non-normative reference. Now that the Adoption SC has been set up, I suggest that the other SCs provide content for the Developer's Guide for standards under development as they are identified.

I am currently as committed to EDXL-RM as I can possibly be, but as soon as the level of attention required there diminishes, I will be happy to help the Adoption SC with its endeavers.

    Dear EM TC members,
Josh and I would like to get the Adoption subcommittee moving.  We don't have a site up or anything, yet, but that shouldn't stop us.

We'd like to solicit (a) ideas for what the SC should do first, and (b) volunteers to be on the SC.  Any comments or ideas are most welcome.

Also, if any of the other SC chairs have suggestions about process and procedure we should follow, please do clue us in.

    Thanks very much,
    Josh and Aaron

    Hi everyone,

My apologies if I've missed a message somewhere, but I'm still waiting on receipt of an email pointing me to meeting minutes where the creation of this subcommittee was approved by the TC along with a brief statement of purpose and the name of the chair ... Again, if I missed it, my sincere apologies!! Could someone please re-send?

    Thanks!

Mary,  The approved meeting notes of May 2 is where the
"Implementation" SC was approved and May 11 is where we
approved changing the name to the "Adoption" SC.  Please
let me know if there is anything else that you need to get this
    moving.  Thanks, Elysa

    Ditto for me Aaron,

In the meantime, you should be able to set up a wiki page on the TC
wiki on Kavi, I believe. That's my first suggestion. You might want
to check that out. I know we use one in the SOA Reference Model TC
    for the Reference Architecture SC.

However, I will also make another site (and wiki pages) available to
the Adoption SC after I finish getting it set up. It is the Public
Service Preparedness Portal the collaboratory pilot group I work with
will be using during our ongoing work. It will have a registry of
standards, SDOs and companies whose products and services use the
standards for the domains of emergency management and health
informatics. Needless to say, as co-chair of the Msg SC I'm up to my
armpits in the EDXL-RM work, too, but we should be much further
along, perhaps as far as getting ready for the public review draft
either mid or end of September.

    Cheers,
    Rex
