Dear colleagues,
assuming the TC agrees on the CSAF Community Days 2026, we need to provide a program committee. At least the chair of the program committee SHALL be a TC member. Last years have shown that a size of three persons is reasonable for a program committee. I suggest that the size does not exceed five persons.
The TC can provide guidelines to the program committee to shape the content of the event.
Experience and feedback from last year's edition include:
- lightning talks help to provide latest insights and news from the community that come up on-site (on-site sign-up only)
- sufficient breaks help to provide space for small group discussions
- audience is active and engaged: moderated discussions to get feedback from the community could work
- idea to stretch from two long days to three shorter days with more interaction might make the event more attractive for internationals (but is definitely depending on venue availability)
- having the presenters on-site helps to facilitate discussions and exchange
The tasks of the program committee include, but are not limited to:
- reviewing all proposals
- making sure, no marketing talks sneak in
- clarifying proposals
- accepting or rejecting proposals
- ordering talks in a meaningful way
- drafting a schedule
- working with the organizer and event team to facilitate the event
- reviewing videos after the event to make sure all cuts done by the video team make sense content wise
- select best moments from the videos to have the video team produce a trailer for next year's edition
Session chairs (who will coordinate the talks on-site, moderate them and keep track of the time) are also needed for the event. The organizer team will provide details regarding the application later in the process.
People who are willing to participate in the program committee are encouraged to either respond to this email thread or put themselves forward during the next TC meeting. At least, we should vote on the PC chair.
