Paul,   Here are minor revisions (w/ changes tracked) to the ECF 4 Web Services and Portable Media SIP specifications that address the issues you recommended be resolved before posting these specifications for public review.  I’ve also responded to each of the issues inline below.  The TC will consider these changes during our monthly call scheduled for Tuesday, May 10.   Please let me know if there is anything else we need to address prior to posting as a committee specification draft (CSD) and 30 day public review.     Thanks,   Jim Cabral MTG Management Consultants, L.L.C. www.mtgmc.com (206) 442-5010 Phone (502) 509-4532 Mobile   Helping our clients make a difference in the lives of the people they serve.   The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.  If you received this in error, please contact the sender and delete the material from any computer.   From: Paul Knight [mailto:paul.knight@oasis-open.org] Sent: Wednesday, May 04, 2011 12:41 PM To: James E Cabral Cc: Chet Ensign; Robin Cover Subject: Re: [chairs] An introduction to your new Director of Standards Development and TC Administration   Hi Jim, In looking over the two documents, I noted a handful of fairly minor items which you will probably want to update before you upload them as working drafts into Kavi, in preparation for having the TC vote on them as Chet has outlined. Obviously nobody can guarantee that additional issues will not surface during the Public Reviews, but cleaning up these items before publishing the documents may help avoid additional update/review cycles. Items identified for correction: in BOTH documents: - Your/TC decision: update the names of TC Chairs or Editors to reflect change since 2008/2009? (add current Chairs and/or editors)? I changed the chairs to Jim Harris and myself and the Editor to Adam Angione - under "Related Work" on front page, there is no evidence of the existence of the "Profile 1.1" documents which are said to be replaced or superseded. The links don't work, and there is not even a directory " docs.oasis-open.org/legalxml-courtfiling/specs/ecf/v3.1/ " I could not find any references to Profile 1.1 or ECF 3.1 visible in any of the LegalXML ECF TC documents in Kavi. Suggestion: delete these references, or make them correct. The Web Services spec referenced a ECF Web Services SIP version 1.1 which is not currently available on http://docs.oasis-open.org and is also not listed in the TC document library.  From the email trail, it appears I that I initially distributed it to the TC via email.  See: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/legalxml-courtfiling/email/archives/200810/msg00002.html   I have also asked Mary Mcrae and her assistants repeatedly (in 2008, 2009 and 2010) to post this and other ECF 3.0, 3.01 and 3.1 specs to http://docs.oasis-open.org .  As an example, I’ve attached an email trail from October 2008. - in "Symbols and Abbreviations", OASIS should be Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (not "Systems") Good catch. I fixed the definition. Webservices SIP: - In Normative references: [SOAP MTOM 1.0] - name misspelled - Yakmalp --> Yalcinalp This is a Russian name with multiple Anglicized versions.  To be safe, I copied it from the SOAP MTOM spec. Portable Media SIP: - Section 1.1: "Error!Reference source not found." --> [RFC2119] Fixed - Section 2.1: Profile 1.0 --> Profile 2.0 Fixed - Front page: Declared XML Namespace - hypertext link goes to webservicesmessagingprofile I changed the hyperlink to a relative link to the schema.  However, I also discovered an inconsistency with the namespace definitions in the schema file.  To remedy this, I synchronized the namespace definitions in the following files:   xsd/ECF-4.0-PortableMediaProfile.xsd messages/request/ECF-4.0-Operation.xml   with the namespace listed in the specification ( urn:oasis:names:tc:legalxml-courtfiling:schema:xsd:PortableMediaProfile-2.0 ) Regards, Paul Knight On Wed, May 4, 2011 at 12:08 PM, Chet Ensign < chet.ensign@oasis-open.org > wrote: Hi Jim,    I just left you voice mail on this. Paul will send those to you asap.    - Once you fix (or not - your call) those working drafts, please load them into the TC's document archive on Kavi.    - Then, on Tuesday, you can have the TC vote on two motions:  - Motion 1 - to approve the working drafts in Kavi as Draft Committee Specifications (CSD's)  - Motion 2 - to approve releasing the CSD's for 30 day public review    Please make sure to document the motions and the votes in the meeting minutes.    - After the TC has passed the motions, please go to the TC Administration Request forms at  http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/TCAdminRequests15-10-2010.html and enter 4 requests for us:  - One Committee Specification Draft Creation / Upload Request for each of the two approved working drafts  - One 30-day Committee Specification Draft Public Review (CSD-PR) Request for each CSD    We will then produce and load the CSD's for the the ECF 4.0 Web Services and Portable Media SIP specifications and initiate the public reviews.    This should go quickly since you've provided us with 'advance copies' of the working drafts. If you haven't put in a TCA request form before, I'll be happy to send you the 'how-to' to make it fast and easy.  If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 973-378-3472 or send me an email. Hi Jim, Thanks for the careful cleanup.  These look good. For proceeding with the Public Review of these documents, I'll add a few more details to the process that Chet has already described: - You will need to make versions of these documents with all the changes "accepted", and include them in ZIP files with their associated files (similar to the ZIP files you sent with this message). - Upload the ZIP files to the TC document repository, and note the URIs.  (Use the publicly-visible form of the URIs, as described in the Naming Directives, http://docs.oasis-open.org/specGuidelines/ndr/namingDirectives.html#accessibleURIs .) - In the TC motions to approve these documents for Committee Specification Draft and Public Review, refer to these URIs. Regarding the earlier versions of the documents, it looks as though the TC Admin team will need to work with you to get things sorted out.  I have created an issue in our issue tracking system (JIRA) to begin this process.  You and TC members can track the progress at http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/TCADMIN-485 . Regards, Paul P.S.  Since I worked on a couple of TCs/Working Groups with Ã?mit Yalçınalp, a wonderful woman of Turkish origin, I felt I had to correct that reference...
