Call for Speakers of the IAEM Annual Conference Now Open IAEM is excited to hear from emergency management professionals interested in speaking at the premier emergency management event of the year â the IAEM 71st Annual Conference & EMEX. Speakers for In-Person and Virtual Events Sought New this year, IAEM is seeking proposals for both the in-person annual conference and for one of our upcoming virtual events. Requirements and Tips Step-by-Step instructions on how to submit a proposal and information needed to complete the online submission form are found in the Speaker Submission Guidance . Tips from the Conference Committee and a tutorial of the submission portal are found in the recently held webinar " Tips for a Successful Speaker Proposal ." Selection Criteria Quality of submitted presentation Speaker experience and qualifications related to the topic Compelling presentation story that will engage the audience Adherence to the theme Non-commercial, content-driven session with actionable key takeaways Theme - Emergency Management: Turning the Tide Consider how your presentation will relate to the theme or suggest a topic of your own. Event Information November 3-9, 2023 (breakout sessions November 6-8, 2023) Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, California Deadline Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11:59:59 PM CST Notification Date Selected presenters will be notified by May 1, 2023, and notices will include the date and time for when the presentation is scheduled. Breakout Session Length Breakout sessions are one (1) hour in length (including Q & A).
