    Hi Jeremy, Uri, and Sharone,

Well, OSCON itself provides the show logistics, of course. You may want your rep to register, of course. I would say that joining and participating in the Interop SC meetings
on Mondays at 11am ET is important. Shadev also attends and discusses any tweaks/problems with the CSAR file.

There will be a form to sign from OASIS that I’ll pass on and they will charge a nominal $700 fee.

Lastly, the Interop SC will be asking to see your candidate video. If you have any questions, I would bring them up at the Interop SC meetings or post those questions to
tosca-interop@lists.oasis-open.org (you have to be an  SC member to post, of course). SC members must explicitly join the SC and be approved by their primary representative, as you know.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Best,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

We are very much looking forward to being involved in the OASIS booth at OSCON.

Now that we have the green light, what are the logistics involved from my side to make this happen?

Is there anything you would like to send us as well to prepare ahead of time?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Hi Paul

This helps a lot, thanks. In that case we’re 100% in :)

Jeremy will follow up to coordinate the details.

    Best,

    Uri

    Hi Uri,

In the spirit of helpfulness, allow me to say that I this is considered a technical marketing event, as opposed to a formal test of interoperability or compliance. Furthermore,
there is consensus that we want this event to be as inclusive as possible for TC members. That does provide some flexibility, as long as the main points of the demo are covered. Even more so in this case because, as you know, the presenters are using videos
to fit into the basic demo scenario that is being shown.

Through the use of clever editing it is easier to tell a story that is consistent with the demo scenario without covering every minor detail. For example, you probably don’t have
to actually show a CSAR file loading, but can have the video indicate in text/voice that once the CSAR is loaded, Cloudify starts doing the next action. At the show, there is nothing wrong with your presenter saying to attendees that he has a different, and
more “sophisticated” or “interesting” demonstration (like your NFV one) to share on the actual Cloudify tool, or if trying to show something from the demo tape “live,” then skipping certain portions of the video-taped demo in the interest of the attendee’s
    time.

So, as you can see, there is a some flexibility in how this is approached. As you think about this opportunity, does this give you enough to move forward?

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul

Sorry for the late reply, I’m in Vancouver this week for the OpenStack summit. Although we're intimately involved in creating the ELK CSAR (one of our guys Idan is
working on it with Sahdev from IBM), Cloudify has some catchup to do with the spec in terms of supporting the latest version of requirements and capabilities and the CSAR format (both are already being implemented in the immediate time frame but I'm not sure
we'll make it in time for OSCON).
We can instead show a blueprint for orchestrating a full blown NFV stack (an IMS service) using Chef and OpenStack / VMW. ? Not sure if that works, but thought it’s
    worth mentioning anyway.

    Thanks,
    Uri

    Hi Sharone,

Thank you for working so hard behind the scenes on this, especially during OpenStack Summit. If you see any announcements there that impact TOSCA in any
way, and you have a minute, I would so appreciate your sharing them with me.

That said; it is certainly possible to have a Gigaspaces employee who is not a TOSCA TC member at the booth. Obviously, it would be useful for them to
be able to speak to people about your company’s TOSCA commitment, and how it works in the demo and in your product, but they do not have to be a TOSCA expert.

However, as a point-of-interest a number of the folks who exhibited at the TOSCA Eurocloud event in 2013 became big TOSCA fans and joined the TC. If your
US employee would care to join the TC even as an observer, and then join the Interop SC (two separate “join” events in OASIS), it might be logistically helpful in getting ready for the event and educational for that person, but it is not required.

    Looking forward to hearing more.

    Best,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

I’m really sorry for not replying sooner!! We’ve been completely head down on OpenStack Vancouver and all the activity/hullaballoo around
    it.

The good news is – that we have been trying to make this happen behind the scenes (albeit we dropped the ball on updating you).

We’re still trying to see how we can make this happen – we may have someone in the States that could handle and commit this, however,
it is not someone from the committee (i.e. Idan and Yaron) – is this something you are willing to consider?

We’ll try and have an answer for you ASAP. (Either Jeremy or I will circle back on this).

    Very sorry about the delay!

    Thanks,
    Sharone

    Hi Sharone and Jeremy,

It was a pleasure to chat with you. As you know, I would kindly ask your commitment within a week or so regarding the TOSCA demo opportunity at the OSCON
    OASIS Expo booth.

Each participating company is demonstrating this CSAR file deployment  (see below). It is required to upload a copy of the video to the OASIS TC documents
page by June. Also, please bring the video so that demos can be done quickly/reliably or shown on a slideshow, in case you have to step away from the booth.

    https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/tosca/document.php?document_id=55626

    We also discussed:
    * We come in under the OASIS banner. They provide the booth, chairs, tables, electric, wi-fi, monitors, banners, handouts, etc. (we need a laptop to run
a promotional slideshow, which you said would be possible, if you participate)
    * $700 dollar charge and OASIS form to sign
    * The OASIS Interop SC and TC  will review the video and formally approve it

Ongoing, once you join up, more details and logistics available at the weekly TOSCA Interop Subcommittee call (Idan and Yaron are registered) starting
again the week of May 25 th (Monday, 11am ET).

Hope this helps, and thanks again for your interest.

    Thanks,
    Paul
