    Dear OpenDocument TC members,
    We're getting close to a major milestone for the OpenDocument TC: the pending approval of ODF V1.4 as an OASIS Standard. To mark this achievement, OASIS will issue a press release in mid-October (publication date is TBD pending approval and publishing). A draft will be shared for your review shortly.

    As part of our upcoming announcement, we're requesting quotes from the TC's Sponsor members, IBM and Microsoft. The deadline to submit quotes is Wednesday, 8 October. 
    While OASIS deeply appreciates the contributions of all members, only Foundational, Premier, and Sponsor members elect to receive promotional benefits, including the opportunity to contribute quotes for press releases. 

    Here are a few important points for submitting a Sponsor Quote:
    • The subhead of the press release will highlight IBM and Microsoft. If you represent one of these organizations, and you *do not* wish to be included in the press release, please notify me ASAP.
    • Quotes should be 75 words or fewer - typically, quotes focus on what this milestone means to your organization and/or the value of your contributions to ODF v1.4. (Examples available upon request.)
    • Please email your quote to me [marybeth.minto@oasis-open.org], including the name and title of the person to whom it should be attributed, by 8 October.
