Hi Carol,
AsyncAPI is using the name "amqp" for the abandoned AMQP 0.9.1 draft that the RabbitMQ
project decided to keep alive after splitting from the AMQP development effort.
The OASIS Standard AMQP is referred to as "amqp1"
The
"amqp" binding looks fairly complete:
https://github.com/asyncapi/bindings/blob/master/amqp/README.md The
"amqp1" binding is a placeholder:
https://github.com/asyncapi/bindings/blob/master/amqp1/README.md That
means AsyncAPI is not at all helping in resolving the marketplace confusion around what "AMQP" is. Rabbit's use of an abandoned draft version is not OASIS' understanding of "AMQP". It
appears that AsyncAPI does not support AMQP 1.0 seriously today but only the abandoned draft, and the use and apparent preference of "amqp" for the abandoned draft is literally guiding developers down a path that ends at Rabbit and not the OASIS AMQP ecosystem.
Under
those circumstances, I find use of the OASIS AMQP logo by the AsyncAPI project problematic.
Best
Regards
Clemens

Betreff: [amqp] Request to use MQTT and AMPQ logo in swag
MQTT and AMQP TCs,
OASIS has received the request below to use a stylized version of our MQTT and AMQP logos in AsyncAPI
swag. (See the attached mockup.) It strikes us as a fun inclusion, but if the TCs object, please let us know.
Thanks,
Carol

Hi folks,
I'm representing an open-source project,
AsyncAPI Initiative, which is a project under Linux Foundation.
I'm having difficulty understanding your
trademark policy , so I hope you can help me.
AsyncAPI is a protocol-agnostic specification that supports many different standards like MQTT, AMQP or Kafka and Pulsar. One of the artists from our community prepared an illustration that I attached to this email. As you can see, we have customized versions
of MQTT and AMQP logos there.
My question is, do we need written approval from your side to have such an illustration? especially since we will end up printing it on swags. The majority of swags are for give away, but there will be an option for others to buy these too. All profits will
go to AsyncAPI Initiative on our Open Collective account, and we will use the money to support the project's sustainability.
I hope you can give me a positive answer and a green light to proceed with the illustration.
Thanks in advance,
Lukasz
