I really hope I'm wrong here but it appears to me that there is an error in the syntax specification of capability-type in CSD-07. Section 8.2 says that 'type' is mandatory but as we no longer have a base profile there is no valid type name that can be supplied for the value of type. I think it should be optional.

Furthermore, for consistency 'type' should be 'derived_from'.

I may be looking at the wrong section, but 8.2 defines "capability definition", not "capability type". For capability definitions, the "type" is absolutely mandatory. For capability refinements (in 8.2.1) the type is optional.

Is this inconsistent with your understanding?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Yes of course, I just realized my error. So glad I was wrong.
