    2. Announcements
Dawn; registrations for DITA Europe and ConVex are going well
Bob; at next Boston DITA UG, I'll be doing a presentation on strategies.

    3. New Zoom meeting for future calls
Kris; previously, our zoom was my consulting acct, Today's acct is a free personal one, so only 40 mins. Going forward, Eliot will share his, so we can use it . I just need to figure out whether I can use my mayo address or need to create a different one.
Eliot; you just need a personal email acct.
Kris; I'll try to switch it over after this call. and stay posted for new connection info

    4. Need for a volunteer to look at PDF plug-in
Kris; last time I generated spec, I noticed some errors, not using Antenna House, but using XSL-FO, which should still work.
Bob; is this a TC issue, or an OT issue?
Kris; TC, I think it's our stylesheet
    Eliot; I can do it.
Kris; look at our OASIS repo, and that's where the stylesheets are: https://github.com/oasis-open/dita-stylesheets

    5. Conref review: Ella Fitzgerald
Opening of review (Anderson, 17 September 2024) (https://groups.oasis-open.org/discussion/base-spec-review-ella-fitzgerald-all-about-content-referencing)
    PDF (https://groups.oasis-open.org/higherlogic/ws/groups/c2c11e3a-c9cd-43d9-840b-018dc7cd5db9/documents/drafts1215/document?document_id=72219)
    Content Fusion review (https://fusion.oxygenxml.com/tasks/ngbco2onlce6jm39qa6r07d2bvgtohtl5c5in7ohj0nmkckr)
    Update on review
    Participation as of 01 October 2024 (https://groups.oasis-open.org/discussion/participation-in-conref-review-as-of-01-october-2024)
    Trends?
Kris; Robert can you update us?
Robert; did some of the major rework, rewriting titles to amke them meaningful, some of pervasive comments, eliot noted that we still have old wording that refers to conref instead of other conref, replace 'conref' with 'content referencing' We'll try to get that done with Kris. rather that 'conref or conkeyref'
Kris; anywhere we have just conref,
Robert' ;eft are kkeys/conditional processing and branch filtering.
Kris; before we do branch filtering, have to do content refing, and when we do branch, shoud also be doing ditaval and ditaval domain, since you have to use those with branch filtering.
Kris; close to finishing the two topics we wanted to rework into multiple topics, instead of two with many sections. I should be done this weekend. How much work is left
Robert; if have any time, probably by next week.

    Other:
Kris; anyone want to volunteer for more editorial work.
Eliot; can't for the next quarter.
Robert; let's try to meet later this week and figure out what sections are left. We're prepping on getting stuff ready; Would be great if some folks could do a first editorial pass, to deal with old draft-comments, and sections that just don't flow.
Kris; even a step before that; just a careful read-through and list out what the problems are, e.g., draft-comments and content that hasn't been touched in too long.
Nancy; I could help before feb 15th, but not after that.
Kris; so Robert and I should generate a list and ask for volunteers to do that. does that soulnd right
    [yes]

Stan; when opening a review, I really need a half hour review of context on that section.
Robert; that will be absolutely necessary for branch filtering; we should just do it during call when we introduce new reviews.
Kris; we did that with glossary, and we reduced gloss markup by 1/3? 1/2?
Christine; when we had reviews during meeting time, it forced us to focus, I'd like to continue to have review within meeting time. that's where we get traction.
Kris; are any folks using branch filtering
    Dawn; some of my clients
    Eric; some of mine
Robert; some users used it too much
Eliot; It can definitely make a mess; we don't use it now, but that's because we don't have the use cases for which it would work.
Robert; for simpler use cases, it works quite well.
Kris; yes, it works for simple use cases, but can blow up.
Robert; same as for chunking. It's not just a tools issue, but the content may be too complicated; it can be a content management issue.
Kris; the problem if that you're trying to layer on too many DITA architectural features and wanting the OT to handle it all.
