    Hello DocBook TC Members:

I see messages going to the old email list so I wanted to offer some thoughts.

Your new mailing list address is: OASIS-docbook-tc@ConnectedCommunity.org

Please don't send anything to the old list. We expect that to go offline today. We cannot guarentee that any messages sent since we have instructions not to use the lists starting Feb 20th will carry over to the new system.

Please also refrain from starting a mailing list outside of official channels. I'm sure you can imagine heachahe that could bring from both an openness and IPR perspective.

Regarding your archive, we expect that to be available in the coming days. We are migrating over 1 million messages so it is taking a little bit of time. You will be able to see your complete email archive in the "Discussions" tab of the new workspace once they are avaialble.

I know these last couple of weeks have been a little bit bumpy. Please know that we are working very hard in the background to resolve issues as fast as possible.

    Thank you,
    Kelly

This does not sound good. A "messaging system" sounds more like
something Marketing dreamed up. Sure enough, searching the Higher Logic
site for "mailing list" returns nothing usable. I'll bet you ten
attributes to an element that it's a "forum" :-)

Shouldn't be a problem, except we want stability. Something that will
still be there a couple of decades away.

What about the docbook and docbook-apps lists that have historically been open to anyone, not just OASIS members?

I’d like to register the opinion that the standard email interface to this new system is absolutely dreadful.

We are still working on the other Docbook lists. I've registered the issue with the development team and Scott will likely need to engage on this when he is back in the office.
