To all prospective members of the DPS TC:

The first order of business at the first TC meeting is to elect a chair (or two co-chairs). If you are interested in serving as a Chair or in nominating another individual for the position of Chair, you are welcome to make that candidacy known prior to the first meeting by posting a note to the TC's e-mail list expressing your interest and/or intent along with a brief statement of your or their qualifications. The meeting will also accept nominations from any qualified persons before beginning the vote.

Please be aware that prospective members must join the TC no less than 7 days prior to the first meeting in order to participate in the meeting and vote on for TC Chair(s). To join the TC, please complete the form linked here.

    Thank you,

    Kelly

  • 2.  RE: Inviting nominations for Chair of the DPS TC

    Posted 03-21-2025 11:48

    Dear All,

The D&TA would like to nominate Bryan Bortnick (IBM), Lisa Bobbitt (Cisco), and Fotis Psallidas (Microsoft) for consideration as co-chairs of the DPS TC.

Each of these individuals brings extensive experience and domain expertise to enable the DPS TC goals, including the following:

    • Bryan Bortnick serves as Counsel for Data Governance at IBM's Office of Privacy & Responsible Technology. He has played a key role in the formation of the D&TA DPS that were released last year and brings deep expertise in data governance and legal frameworks.
    • Lisa Bobbitt from Cisco has been a consistent champion of data provenance and brings a strategic perspective on implementation and adoption, grounded in real-world enterprise experience.
    • Fotis Psallidas, nominated by Microsoft, brings advanced technical and governance knowledge in data management and is recognized for his leadership in cross-organizational collaboration and standards development.

As co-chairs, we believe that these three candidates represent a balance of business, technical, and policy leadership that aligns well with the TC's mission to advance and operationalize data provenance standards.

Thank you for the opportunity to submit these nominations and looking forward to working with all of you starting April 8!

    Kind regards,

    Kristina Podnar

    Senior Policy Director, D&TA
