    ISO/TC 68 AG2 liaison

     

    Proposal for establishing liaison with ISO/TC 68, responsible for creating global standards for the financial services industry. TC 68 is responsible for standards that cover core banking, capital markets including asset management, payments, credit card processing, and information security aspects specific to financial services.  The committee is organized into three subcommittees: SC2 (Information Security), SC8 (Reference Data), and SC9 (Information Exchange).  ISO / TC 68 AG2 focuses on the global regulatory community and is responsible for responding to consultations regarding regulatory and compliance requirements established by governing bodies.

     

    Proposal to establish liaison between OASIS UBL and ISO/TC 68 AG2 to act as a bridge between both standards bodies, where OASIS standards could support the requirements from the governing body.

     

    Agreed to nominate Todd Albers liaison officer (to be formally voted on next week).

     

    EU survey on e-invoicing

     

    The EU is conducting a survey on e-invoicing: https://groups.oasis-open.org/discussion/fwd-eu-einvoicing-invitation-to-contribute-to-the-future-eu-einvoicing-policy-2025.

     

    Shall we participate in the survey as a Technical Committee? Kenneth will draft a response to be discussed next week.

    UBL 2.4

     

    Review of UBL 2.4 submission to ISO closed on 14 September 2024. The submission of UBL 2.4 is approved by the TC, OASIS executive management, as well as OASIS membership.

    TC Liaisons

     

    CEN TCs 434 and 440

     

    The CEN TCs 434 and 440 are responsible for the standardization of e-invoicing and public procurement in Europe, respectively.

     

    Agreed at the Copenhagen face-to-face meeting that the UBL TC is open to establish a formal liaison with CEN TC 434 to create a European or international standard for electronic invoicing, if there is an interest from the CEN TC.

     

    OASIS has reported that there is an agreement on a way forward. The TC has agreed to appoint Wim Kok liaison officer to the CEN TC 434, and Peter Borresen as liaison officer to the CEN TC 440, as recorded here: https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/202301/msg00017.html. The appointments have been communicated to OASIS.

     

    ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 32/WG 1

     

    Working Group 1 of SC 32 is the eBusiness working group of the ISO data management and interchange subcommittee. Of specific interest to UBL, WG1 focuses on e-invoicing standardization.

     

    Decision to appoint Andrea as liaison representative between ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 32 and the TC recorded here: https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/202007/msg00014.html

     

    OASIS has been in contact with the SC 32 secretariat. SC 32 has provided an application form to apply as CAT A Liaison. Currently waiting on OASIS to return the form.

     

    ISO TC 323 (WG5)

     

    TC 323 is the Circular Economy technical committee of ISO, which develops the Product Circularity Data Sheet (PCDS) within Working Group 5.

     

    Decision to appoint Andrea as liaison representative between ISO TC 323 (WG5) and the TC recorded here: https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/202402/msg00004.html. Awaiting feedback from OASIS.

     

    ISO TC 207

     

    TC 207 is the ISO committee on environmental management. The ISO 14000 series, in particular, is relevant to UBL and our efforts to support emerging ESG requirements in supply chain data exchange.

     

    At the The Hague meeting, Kenneth volunteered as liaison officer. Does the TC agree to initiate a formal liaison between the OASIS UBL TC and the ISO TC 207, and to appoint Kenneth Bengtsson as the Liaison Officer for the UBL TC? Agreed by all members present. Kenneth will inform OASIS.
