    Hi all,

    in the first place this is a test whether the new address
    OASIS-office@ConnectedCommunity.org works.

    But in addition some questions, especially to Patrick:
    There existed also the mailing lists
    office-comment@lists.oasis-open.org
    opendocument-users@lists.oasis-open.org
    odf-advocacy@lists.oasis-open.org
    odf-interop-mktg@lists.oasis-open.org
    What will happen with them?

    There is the page
    https://groups.oasis-open.org/communities/tc-community-home2?CommunityKey=4bf06d41-79ad-4c58-9e8e-018dc7d05da8#feedback
    That needs an update in section "Mailing Lists and Comments".

    I tried subscribing to the 'office-comment' list from the TC comments page (https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=office) and got two emails in response:

     

    • one from OASIS Mailing List Maintenance telling me that the mailing lists will be unavailable until Monday, March 4th, 2024;
    • the other from 'office-comment-help@lists.oasis-open.org' asking me to confirm my request to subscribe to the list.

     

    I then sent a second email confirming my request to subscribe to the list and got two emails in response:

     

    • the same one from OASIS Mailing List Maintenance (mailing lists unavailable);
    • the other from 'office-comment-help@oasis-open.org' telling me that I was already subscribed to the list (as I expected).

     

    So, I think that the 'office-comment' mailing list is still there, it's just that you won't be able to look at the archive until Monday (or later?). I have no knowledge of whether the other mailing lists you mention are still there.

    Looking more closely, I think that the page at https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=office is an old page that still needs updating. It is in the old format and has the old TC Workspace login and Account login links at the top-right.

    It's not at all clear what this "new Thrive platform and messaging system" is about.

    apparently the https://groups.oasis-open.org/discussion/ requires a login to even view anything?

    previously we had a public archive of the TC mailing list on the website, did anybody find an equivalent for this newfangled thing?

    i think many people value the transparency that the public archive provided.

    I’m wondering if OASIS can be persuaded - maybe they plan this - to keep the old lists operational, so that a public archive is available for office@lists.oasis-open.org and maybe also for office-comment@lists.oasis-open.org.

    Hi Michael:

    We are still loading all email messages from the previous system. We had over 1 million messages to migrate so it is taking a little bit of time for the back messages to fill in your archive. I've been told that we can expect them in the next week or so. 

    Once that is complete, emails (now called "Discussions") and the calendar will be publicly available just like before. Documents will also be publicly available but will require someone to set up a free account to view.
