  • 1.  Proposal to create an OpenEOX information model to start

    Posted 09-14-2025 18:10
    Dear members,

I had an action item on me to identify and propse a first
work product for the OASIS OSIM TC to actually produce
delivery itrems as suggested in our charter.

To have resultrs fast, I decided on giving information modeling
the OpenEOX Core schema a try.

It is small and essential for the shell schema and API
of OpenEOX and I think it is already quite complete.

If I do not hear or read any objections, I will start to work
on that one, esp. combining the initial proposal from David Kemp
and the work we alkready did on the schema in the OpenEOX TC.

    All the best,
    Stefan.

Great idea.  The EoX core schema is as close as you can get to a "hello world" example, and I posted an EoX Core information model example to the contributions area in PR #87.  It includes several formats of the identical IM, and a few comments on JSON Schema best practices. I still have to fix one thing (the choice between time and "TBD"), but that example, along with the Coordinate example in the IM Summary, should help motivate and explain how information relates to data.

    Regards,
    David

Apologies for posting the examples PR to the DPS TC rather than OSIM, but they and the IM Summary paper are equally (more) applicable here if we're going to produce work products.  The same material is posted here in PR #98.
